The Crescent Skate Space

Consultation has concluded, thanks for your input for skate spaces in Sydney.

Skate space approved!

Thanks to all those who got involved in the skate space design. This project has now been approved by Council and moved to the detailed design stage so further work can be done to refine the skate space.

The City of Sydney is creating open space along the Crescent as the next stage of implementing the Johnston’s Creek Parklands MasterPlan.

We will be removing the remaining buildings on the Crescent north of the pet store and carpet warehouse, opening up the viaduct archways and providing new green space along The Crescent connected to Federal Park. The skate space will also be part of the new parkland.

Thanks to all of the people that helped us by completing the skate space design survey. We received 125 responses from a range of people.

The top reasons people skate are:

    • for fun,
    • to relax
    • de-stress
    • hang with friends.

Most of your said you were expert skaters.

The majority of you (57%) like riding ‘a bit of both’ - Street & Plaza and Bowl & Transition.
Your favourite design style (46%) was ‘classic.’
