Night Time Economy Phase Two

Welcome to phase two of consultation on the future of Sydney's night time economy. This consultation has now wrapped up. We are now one step closer to creating a vibrant city nightlife that offers something for everyone. Your ideas and feedback is being considered for the draft policy due out late this year.

We've said all along that we can't do this without you. So thank you for joining our forums, completing our surveys, making submissions, telling your friends and following us on twitter

Help Us Assess the Night Time Economy Summer 2011/12 Program

The City of Sydney ran a late night Summer Program between 28 October 2011 and 11 February 2012. We'd like you to help us assess its success.

Six Precinct Ambassadors worked in pairs between 8pm and 3:30am on Friday and Saturday nights. They provided information and assistance to visitors along George Street, between Hay and Hunter Streets.

In addition, portable urinals were deployed in this period in Kings Cross, Surry Hills and the Sydney CBD. This was aimed at reducing the impacts of late night public urination for residents living in and around the City's late night precincts.

Take our quick survey: http://bit.ly/GzMXig and let us know whether these two initiatives helped to improve late night Sydney for you.

Night Time Precinct Ambassadors Are Back!

The City has brought back the Precinct Ambassadors to increase safety and provide assistance and information for people out late at night in Sydney. Following a successful trial earlier this year, we have decided to return with the program over the Summer period. So if you are out late on Friday & Saturday nights on George Street between Hay and Hunter Streets, say 'hi' to our Precinct Ambassadors - they're there to help with directions, give out information on Sydney's night time activities, assist with public transport queries and call for help if you need it.

Calling All Food Vendors - We Are About To Start Our Food Truck Pilot!

The City is about to roll out a pilot food truck project, but we need vendors. Are you a sole trader/company and registered food business? We are looking for people who can offer delicious food that captures the essence of Sydney as an exciting street food destination. Sound like you or someone you know? There is a formal EOI process, for details . . .
