Minor policy amendments for Sydney LEP 2012

Housekeeping and minor policy updates for the Sydney Local Environment Plan 2012

The City of Sydney invites your feedback on proposed changes to the Sydney Local Environmental Plan 2012.

Our proposed changes intend to make the plan clearer, easier to use and help meet planning outcomes.

The changes will:

· allow for public art in parks, open spaces and other specified areas

· streamline the process for demolition consent

· clarify heritage floor space allocation is to the site, rather than to the building

· clarify the permissible uses of existing non-residential buildings in the general residential zone; and

· remove some unnecessary duplication in the plan.

If Council approves this planning proposal after public exhibition, it can amend the Sydney Local Environmental Plan 2012 on behalf of the Minister for Planning.

You can email your submission to kajudd@cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au until 1 November 2016.
