Proposed land classification, Zetland consultation now under review

Consultation has concluded

Contributions to this consultation are closed for evaluation and review. The Project team will report back on key outcomes.

A portion of 899 South Dowling Street, Zetland (known as Lot 205 in a draft subdivision plan) is to be transferred to the City of Sydney under a voluntary planning agreement. When land is transferred from private to public ownership, it must be classified as ‘operational’ or ‘community’.

The City of Sydney sought your comments on the proposal to classify Lot 205 as ‘operational’ land.

Lot 205 will be subdivided from 899 South Dowling Street when it is transferred to the City. It is one of several lots in the Epsom Park precinct proposed to be transferred to the City under similar arrangements.

Once under the City’s ownership, Lot 205 would be classified ‘operational’ until the adjoining Epsom Park parcels have been transferred to the City. This process is part of the City’s plans for the sustainable renewal of the Epsom Park precinct.

Lot 205 is currently open space and the community has access to it as a park. Classifying the land ‘operational’ will not restrict this use.
