Joynton Avenue Stormwater Drain Project

To manage the impacts of flooding in the Zetland area, the City of Sydney is proposing to construct a stormwater trunk drain in Joynton Avenue between O’Dea Avenue and Elizabeth Street.

The City exhibited a Review of Environmental Factors (REF) from 23 May 2016 to 6 June 2016.

The REF reviews factors such as:
• Design and operational requirements
• Construction impacts and mitigation measures
• Impacts on flora and fauna
• Legislative requirements and approvals.

The drain will be constructed using micro-tunnelling to minimise impacts on traffic and residents. These works will also connect to the Green Square stormwater drain that will run from Link Road to Alexandra Canal.

Work is expected to start in 2017. Our contractors will work to minimise the noise and impacts during this time.
