Green Square

The City of Sydney is working on priority projects to ensure development and growth in the Green Square area is matched with quality community facilities, open space and parks, and transport connections.

We have dedicated $330 million over the next 10 years to new community facilities - a new library and plaza, cultural facililies, a new aquatic centre,  open spaces and parks. The City of Sydney will also invest in green infrastructure to help make Green Square environmentally sustainable.

As these projects come to life we want to hear from you in their design and implementation. Help shape the future of Green Square - register for updates on opportunities to have your say.

For general information on Green Square you can visit the City of Sydney's website and for the latest community news, check out the Green Square community hub at greensquarehub.com. Planned new community facilities for Green Square: Send your feedback

The City of Sydney has developed a master plan for the former South Sydney Hospital site in Joynton Avenue, Zetland and we invite your feedback on the plan until Monday 17 June 2013.

The site has been identified by the City as the appropriate location for new community facilities for the Green Square Town Centre and the wider Green Square area. Download the draft Master Plan or visit the City of Sydney's website.

The master plan outlines the layout and uses for the site. In the first stage, three heritage buildings are proposed to house community facilities, including creative art spaces, studios, exhibition areas and a community shed. A childcare center catering for up to 60 children will also be created. A fourth heritage building will be restored for green technologies and affordable housing is to be located on the site.
