New streets in the Green Square Town Centre

Welcome to our page where you can find out more and have your say on new streets being delivered in the Green Square Town Centre, adjacent to the Green Square railway station.

The new street network will include green and vibrant spaces with footpaths and cycleways that will invite the community to walk and cycle to the new retail and shopping, parks, community facilities, shopping and transport.

The streets will connect residents, workers and visitors to the greater Green Square area and on to wider Sydney. On this page you can explore the images showing the designs for the new streets and maps showing the new street and cycleway network.

About the new street network

Each street will have its own function and character:

  • Zetland Avenue - A grand tree-lined boulevard creates an east-west spine and sets a distinctly green character for the town centre
  • Ebsworth Street - A high street that features calmed traffic and wide pavements for outdoor dining and a vibrant street life whilst catering for the everyday servicing of the precinct
  • A network of traffic calmed and pedestrianised small streets,
  • Tree lined residential streets, and
  • Connector streets, that link the centre into the surrounding road network.
Other key features of the streets:
  • An east-west bus route with centrally located bus stops
  • Separated cycleways
  • Accessible design
  • Stormwater rain gardens, and
  • High quality pavements with stone kerbs and elegant street lighting.
