Green Square setbacks – Planning Controls

Consultation has concluded

Consultation complete and development control plan approved

In August and September 2015 we invited submissions on draft planning controls to the Sydney Development Control Plan 2012. The amendment mainly relates to the setbacks in the Green Square Urban Renewal Area (Green Square).

The objective of the setbacks is to achieve wider footpaths and landscaping to improve the attractiveness of the streets and encourage walking and cycling. The draft planning controls clarified whether the setbacks required are for public footpaths and landscaping or for building setbacks. They also updated the controls and provide for wider setbacks in a few locations.

The public exhibition closed on 21 September 2015. We received a total of 2 submissions and we thank you for your interest in the development control plan. The City prepared documents to Council. This report, along with a summary of all submissions received, and the City’s response to the issues raised, is available to download on this page.

After considering the report at the meeting in October 2015, Council approved amendments to Sydney Development Control Plan 2012 (Sydney DCP 2012) to include the new controls for Green Square.

The amendment to Sydney DCP 2012 came into force on 17 November 2015.
