Sydney Chinese New Year Festival celebrating the Lunar New Year

Consultation has concluded

The Festival

The Sydney Chinese New Year Festival started 18 years ago as a small community event celebrating the contribution of Sydney's Chinese community and is now one of the largest celebrations of the Lunar New Year in the world. The City supports a vibrant, creative and inclusive festival which shows the multicultural fabric of Sydney, celebrating the traditions of China, Korea, Vietnam and other countries that observe the lunar calendar.

The Survey

Major changes in the city, such as the introduction of light rail, will impact on the Festival in coming years.

The City of Sydney would like to survey the community about activities during the Lunar New Year period to identify a future vision for the Festival.

This survey will take around 5 minutes to complete and is anonymous so none of your personal information will be collected. Your answers will be combined with those of other participants to help the City of Sydney in their decision making and planning.

The survey has now closed.

Thank you to everyone who participated.
