Bourke and Campbell Streets intersection improvements

UPDATE: This project will go to Council for approval in February 2016

We’re redesigning a crossing near Taylor Square to make it easier to use and safer for everyone.

The Bourke and Campbell Street intersection in Surry Hills is a popular thoroughfare for people walking and riding bikes. It links pedestrians to Taylor Square and riders to connecting cycleways. It’s also used as a loading area for deliveries to nearby businesses.

The new crossing will improve safety and include:

· New traffic signals that prioritise people walking and riding;

· New marked pedestrian and bike crossings that better align with the footpath and connecting cycleways; and

· A new No Left Turn from Campbell Street for authorised vehicles entering Taylor Square.

Check out the design and provide your feedback below.

The design is on exhibition until 17 August 2015 at the One Stop Shop, Level 3, 456 Kent Street.

Your feedback will be incorporated into a report for Council when it considers adopting the proposal.
