Bays Precinct

The Bays Precinct consists of approximately 80 hectares of Government-owned land and sits within 2km of Sydney's city centre. It includes sites such as the heritage-listed White Bay Power Station, Glebe Island, White Bay, Rozelle Bay, Rozelle rail yards and Blackwattle Bay including the Sydney Fish Market.

The Bays Precinct Urban Renewal Program is being led by UrbanGrowth NSW. You can read the City of Sydney's submission on the program to UrbanGrowth NSW.

The Bays Precinct Sydneysiders Summit was held on Saturday 16 May and Sunday 17 May 2015.

There was also a 2-day international summit in Sydney on the 19 and 20 November 2014. Listen here to some of the presenters.

Following these events, UrbanGrowth NSW released a discussion paper and a ‘Call for Great Ideas’ on the Bays Precinct. You can read the City’s combined submission here.

In October 2015 UrbanGrowth NSW released the Bays Precinct Transformation Plan and a selection of the Great Ideas received.
