Light rail given the go-ahead!

The City of Sydney has worked hard to realise the vision and is particularly pleased with the NSW Government's commitment to a pedestrian friendly environment along George Street's central hub between Bathurst Street and Hunter Street. Other proposed improvements include footpath extensions, new lighting, additional street trees, new public spaces for art and events,  upgrades to City squares and laneways, and street furniture.

We are excited about working with the NSW Government, as well as our stakeholders and community to unlock the potential of our amazing City. This is only the first step and there is a lot more work to be done. We look forward to taking you on this journey.
