Kent Street Underpass Developed Design

The City of Sydney is improving the Kent Street Underpass to make it more appealing and safer for people walking and riding bikes.

In June and July 2014, we shared a concept design with the community. The design has been developed to include feedback we received during the consultation period. This project is also part of the Kent Street and Sydney Cyleways

The Developed Design includes:

  • Removal of some existing concrete planters and terraces to declutter the site;

  • Improved walkway entrances;

  • A separated cycleway;

  • Upgraded pathways with high quality paving;

  • New lighting and musical chime play elements in underpass tunnels;

  • New seating and improved lighting;

  • New gardens being planted; and

  • 19 trees are being replaced and 11 new trees and palms planted;.

Plans can be viewed in the document library or you can click here

The designs are also on exhibition until 10 May 2015 at the One Stop Shop, Level 3, 456 Kent Street and the Harry Jensen Centre, 17 Argyle Street, Millers Point.
