Upgrading the Juanita Neilsen Community Centre, Woolloomoolloo
We are plannning to improve the Juanita Neilsen Community Centre in Woolloomoolloo to provide a better recreation centre for the whole community. We are working to preserve the character of the building, provide outdoor community space and space for a range of community programs for everyone.
Thank you to everyone who come along to the open day at the Juanita Neilsen Community Centre on the 9 February to see the designs. These are now available online for you to view, click here.

Latest Developments on Exhibition for Green Square
The City has recently placed on public exhibtion two development applications for Green Square:
1. A development application to install and operate a trigenertation power station at the former Royal South Sydney Hospital site.
2. A Planning Agreement relating to land at 956-960 Botnay Street, 3554 Botany Road and 377 - 497 Botany Road, Zetland.

City farmers wanted for Summer Garden at Sydney Park
The City Farm Summer Garden is coming to Sydney Park from January 19 to March 24 2013! Make sure you pop down to visit the garden and its great produce and crops, or come along to some of our great weekend activities (think scarecrows, sheep dogs and meet a farmer!)
If you’re a bit of a green thumb or you want a closer look at how to maintain some of the unique produce at the City Farm Summer Garden why not become a volunteer?

Phase 2 Consultation for the Master Plan for the Johnstons Creek Parklands is now closed
Phase 2 consultation for the Master Plan for the Johnstons Creek Parklands is now closed. Thank you to everyone who contributed their feedback on the strategies.
We will be looking at all of your thoughts and comments, along with technical considerations as we create the draft Master Plan.
Phase 3 of consultation will begin early this year when we publicly exhibit the Draft Master Plan. Keep your eyes on this site for news of the exhibition period and the ways in which you can have your say.

Village to Village Bus Service - Community workshops
The Village to Village bus is a free hop-on hop-off service for City of Sydney residents. The City is proposing an extra route between Redfern and Camperdown to give residents better access to local services, facilities and public transport. An extension to Green Square is also being considered.

Improving Abercrombie Street, Darlington
Last year we asked for your feedback on a concept design to improve the southern side of Abercrombie Street, between Ivy and Shepherd streets.
In response to community feedback, the project has been expanded and will include works at Ivy Street and on the northern side Abercrombie Street between Ivy and Shepherd Streets. The exhibition period for the for the design for the extended scope of works has finished.
The City of Sydney is now seeking approval under Section 116 of the Roads Act 1993 on proposed traffic changes to improve safety and pedestrian amenity in the area. A plan of these can be viewed here.

East Sydney/Darlingurst: New childcare, community facilities and parks
Residents are invited to attend a public meeting to discuss new childcare, community facilities and parks in East Sydney/Darlinghurst from 2-4pm, Saturday 1 December 2012 Heffron Hall, 34-40 Burton Street, Darlinghurst. The meeting will focus on the new childcare centre being created at 277 Bourke Street to respond to the serious and growing need for childcare.
We have received strong support for more childcare with feedback expressing concern about some aspects of the proposal. In response to this community input, Council has resolved to proceed with design development whilst working on solutions to address community concerns, which will be discussed at the meeting.

Napier Street Community drop-in session
The City of Sydney plans to improve the eastern end of Napier Street, between Rosebud Lane and the intersection of Greens Road and Oxford Street, Paddington. The proposed improvements will help to activate the area; provide safer, easier access for pedestrians; and more seating.
Come along to the community drop-in session to see the refined plans and give your feedback - Saturday 1 December 2012 from 12pm to 2pm, on the eastern end of Napier Street (cnr of Oxford Street) in Paddington.
