Proposal to amend Planning Controls for 51-55 Missenden Road, Camperdown

Open for comment

The City is inviting feedback on the proposal to change planning controls for 51-55 Missenden Road, Camperdown. 51-55 Missenden Road, Camperdown includes a heritage listed two storey Inter War pub also known as the Alfred Hotel. An aerial photo of the site is provided at Figure 1 and the subject site is outlined in red. A photo of the site is provided at Figure 2.

The proposal will amend the Sydney Local Environmental Plan 2012 and Sydney Development Control Plan 2012 and includes a draft planning agreement for the site. The draft Development Control Plan provides specific design guidelines for the development of the site.

The changes would increase the maximum building height from 9 metres to 27 metres (seven storeys), increase the floor space ratio from 1.75:1 to 2.7:1 and also allow for serviced apartments.

Public benefits from the draft planning agreement will include heritage conservation works to the Alfred Hotel, a green roof and wall, and energy and water efficiency targets.

These documents are on public exhibition until Tuesday 8 December 2015. Following the exhibition, the City will consider all submissions received and report the outcomes to Council and the Central Sydney Planning Committee.

If Council approves this planning proposal after public exhibition, it can amend the Sydney Local Environmental Plan 2012 on behalf of the Minister for Planning.
